The DE-STA-CO 247-U Vertical Hold-Down Toggle Locking Clamp with U-shaped bar and flanged base is made of steel and has a vertical hold-down handle for a variety of clamping applications including light machining and welding. It has a U-shaped clamping bar with a nonmarring neoprene-tipped holding screw that can be moved away from the base for a larger clearance angle. Positioning the holding screw closest to the base allows for maximum holding capacity. The maximum holding capacity is 1000 lb. and the maximum clamp bar opening is 120 degrees. The clamp also has a toggle lock that maintains the clamp pressure and a flanged base for mounting to a work surface. The plastic-covered handle provides a secure grip.Toggle clamps use pressure and a holding screw, also known as a spindle, to hold a component in place. Toggle clamps have either a fixed clamping point at the end of a solid clamping bar or an adjustable holding screw that can be moved down a U-shaped clamping bar and away from the base of the clamp for more clearance.
